Every year I do a newsletter at Christmas , each year I try to make it different and this year I am thinking of sharing a photo that for me tells the story of the month .Now I don't have to many following my blog and no family so I hope I won't be spoiling the blog by sharing here.
January
For me this a month to celebrate as it's my birthday and in my family we celebrate birthdays sometimes they can last for days .
This was a lovely home made gift from Hannah , all the names of my children using scrabble letters my favourite game.
On my actual birthday I invited 4 friends round for afternoon tea it was such fun
Not in a frenzy of alcohol and to drunk to remember but just in family fun, well I would be lying if I said no alcohol was being consumed on these occasions .
For Christmas last year I gave my kids a photo shoot , I don't know about you but we are. Great at phone snaps with sharing on what's app and Facebook etc but inevitably we never get a whole family picture .
At the moment my kids are slightly spread out but all within two hours M6 being kind that is.
But three of my family work shifts two on a regular every other weekend off so that makes family gatherings a bit easier to plan for the nurse in the family.
Becky Lix Hannah Chris and Myself |
Carl and Becky |
Adam |
Three Amigoes |
Four Crazy Kids |
Two Sisters |
Chris and Gemma |
Me as lovely as possible. |
One is at uni but with a man united season ticket that makes home game weekends a bit sacrificial at times especially as he likes all the food and doggy bags he takes back to uni.
Anyway back to the month in question .my birthday is on the 7th I came downstairs to a decorated lounge with banners and balloons .
This year Becky,Gemma plus boys myself and Hannah with her twin charges met at bridgemere a lovely local garden centre with restaurant and kids play area.
My birthday moved so that we could have a mini party.
I was blessed with lovely gifts and cards and a day to remember .
The major celebration happened the following weekend when the aforementioned photo shoot took placed. Needles to say there was lots of smiles laughter and tears ( two grandsons not to keen at first)/
So that was January really .
February
Yes. A dull month if not loved up and all I can say for me personally "I did not get a gushing card or flowers.
But the end of the month sees us celebrating my youngest daughters birthday and celebrate we did.Elizabeth was home for the week ( at time of writing she is still here)
The. Night before Liz decorated the citing room and placed Hannah's gifts and cards on the afore mentioned chest.
For my birthday gifts this year I have decided to buy things beginning with the recipients first initial.
So here goes for Hannah.
Birthday Time |
Hand cream, hello magazine, haribo, Harry potter chocolate, hair mask,Hardy s wine, handbag from H&M, decorated wooden H , handmade handkerchief , happiness project book, hangover three DVD ,hand warmer and I think that was all.
Now as you can see the gifts ranged from 50p upwards , I do tend to give Hannah a bit
More as she is brilliant at being my unpaid carer .
Anyway after breakfast we went to a local spa and had a chilled out couple of hours ending with a manicure each.
Then Friday 28th everyone descended and went out to our favourite Indian restaurant I stayed home with a friend as had had a knee op.
Any way the last celebration Is the is a trip to go bowling with Becky Carl Chris and boys Granma staying home as leg painful. tonight for dancing and
No drinking but no worries Ii won't spoil their fun.
So as you can see the Cook family can celebrate the first two months of the year.
March
Well here in Shropshire March has started with sunshine what more can I ask for?
As I type these final words the birds are tweeting the trees are just showing signs of life I think this part of the world is thinking about spring .
