What am I thankful for ?

Yesterday was Thanksgiving in the USA, it is a day thatI have taken part in a couple of times.
It seems to be as big if not bigger than Christmas is in the UK minus the gifts.
It made me think about things that I am thankful for.
Yes obviously I am thankful for my family from Aunty Jean the oldest member right down to the youngest member Arthur.
I am also obviously thankful for my faith and the ability to be openly Christian .
Ok so they are the two big things in my life but what about the smaller things my home for instance?
I am now living in a wonderful house  that is rented and not mine but I love it and I am thankful that it meets the needs of Hannah and I.
Ok my home is quite a big thing to be thankful for , what about my car ?
Yes I am thankful for that , without it I would be virtually housebound.
Ok something smaller my dog well actually the four pets I currently share my home with . Yes I am thankful for them they make me smile when I am sad.
Something much smaller that I am thankful for is my DAB radio, something so small but used every day to listen to UCB uk, A Christian radio station that is my companion night and day .
I am thankful for my increasing knowledge in sewing , hopefully this will lead me to creating personal gifts for people.
I am Thankful that I don't live in a land blighted by tornadoes whirlwinds and other such destroying weather conditions.
My IPad is something I could live without but I am so thankful that I do not have to .
And whilst there are many things missing from this list, it would be remis of me not to mention friends in my Thankful list .
I am truly thankful for friends who have been there through my thick and thin highs and lows.
I have given this post a new label and who knows maybe I will add to it in the future

B is not for ......................Edenhouse

Ok here we go again, we are now on round eight of Alphabet Thursday , where has the time gone.
At the moment this is the only day I blog , I really need to get organised and get more blogging done.
Any way enough if only's, this round I am going to attempt to share with you My favourite films.

These are a few of my favourite Films

Ok this week was easy to decide , I have loved Babe since I first read the book by Dick King Smith.

The book was released in 1983 and I read it to a child I was a nanny for.
Then in 1995 the film came out .
It was read by my eldest who then watched the film at the cinema. I am not sure when the video arrived in the house but it was watched and watched . Then DVDs arrived and yes it was purchased in that format.
Babe is about a pig with attitude and surprise surprise he talks. It really is an endearing film and loved by adults and children alike.
If a farming film with a pig that can herd sheep appeals to you then all I can say is in the boredom post Christmas go and get a copy of this film.
Thank you for visiting
Ok well I am off to Jenny'sJenny class and see what other people have come up with .

                                           Ok this week it's A

So here we go a film from a book by Nick Hornby , having never read the book I was able to watch and enjoy.
A story about a boys relationship with people  at twelve he is struggling with being bullied and having a depressed mother and no father. Enter Hugh Grant and a not so straight forward happy ever after.

It is definitely on our watch again favourite list .

Please pop over to see what other people have come up with at Jenny's classroom . I look forward to your comments and seeing you next week.

Well here we are at the last letter of round seven of Alphabet Thursday. I would at this point like to say a huge thank you to Jenny for her commitment to weekly set us all off on our journey of exploration around blog land.
I would also like to say thank you to all the people who have left much appreciated comments.
Once again I ask for advise on improving my blog.
As I am partially disabled and spend most of my day at home , my blog is my connection to the world.anyway enough drivel .
At this moment in time I do not personally know anyone with a Z name, I have however taught a Zachary.

One day in the hopefully not to distant future I may have a Zachary or Zoe for a grandchild how amazing would that be.

Any way Aurevoir for now my blog friends I hope we have a round 8 and as I type I am trying to think of a theme.
As for now I am of for the last time in round seven to try and visit each and every contributor to this Jenny's blog class and leave a comment.Jenny

Y is not for...........Edenhouse

Ok well here we are at the penultimate letter of round seven of Alphabet Thursday .
Yet again I do not know anyone personally with a name beginning with Y.
Sadly I have been unable to locate any biblical character whose name starts with Y either.

I do know and did meet about thirty two years ago a friend of my aunts daughter called Yolanda but it was so long ago .

I am now off to see what I can learn on this alphabetical journey.
Please pop over nod see Jenny here

X is not for ..........Edenhouse.

Ok I am a week late with my X. Please forgive me I have been in France with my daughters and a son in law.
I was actually looking forward to contributing on X as I knew right from A that for X I was going to tell you about a biblical king called Xerses.
To find about Xerses the great you need to read Esther 1. Interesting character .
As I do not know him personally I do not feel able to make comments about him.
I am now off to find out what other people have contributed to Alphabet Thursday .
