Alphabet Thursday V ....... Very Much Improved

Last week you lovely followers got the brunt of my frustrations I am sorry but I was feeling useless.
This week I am somewhat improved

I have had a raised planter made  and over the last two days I have improved my pots and planted plants the first time I have gardened in three years It made me feel fabulous

X Marks the spot

Alphabet Thursday time , there was a time when I wouldnt have missed this Blog for anything but thenI kind of had a blogging melt down.
I was only getting comments on Thursdays and come on please dont call me shallow we all like feed back don't we?


So why does X mark the spot then I hear you ask well its to let you know that I am back into blogging there have been big changes in the last year and blogging is my new haven and escape from family life.
I have even purchased a new laptop to make my blogging happen on the go. I tried on my ipad but never managed to sort it out.
In the future I hope to blog daily with a theme for example Thursdays will forever be Alphabet Thursday well as Long as our dear teacher is well enough to keep going .

Ok this is the best picture to describe X . I have actually had one of these this year on my knee waiting for surgery .
I am now heading over to Miss Jenny with a rosy apple to apologise for missing so many classes . See you there.

Alphabet Thursday is my internet passion I stumbled across it during round 1 and have been on the journey ever since although I wont get 100% attendance for the 8 Rounds but I hope to get 100% for Round 8.

I thought when I came to this letter I would really struggle as the only film I could think of had THE before it , but actually there were quite a few. the only one I had heard of was  Quadrophenia (1979) which I have heard of but never seen..

Then I came upon this on the list.

Oliver. A film that portrays the poverty faced by family in the Dickensian times, sadly there are people facing poverty today all over the world sadly there is little that one person can do against the greed that causes poverty.

Oliver didn't have enough food in the work house because the owners were greedy , even when Oliver ended up in what was perceived a better place the greed of Fagin got Oliver initially into trouble.

Oliver is a story and it has a happy ending sadly people facing poverty in. Our world don't always have a happy ending.

Well here I am at my favourite blog of the week, Alphabet Thursday. If you have dropped in by chance please stay and look around, we are a group of bloggers that are on round 8 of Alphabet Thursday this week we have reached the letter M .
For this round I have chosen to research and share with you movies hence the title Lights camera action. This is however the nearest I get to direct anything .

Ok every week I have to admit I check Wonderful Wiki as an ade memoir and to be honest if I hadn't I would not have come up with these films .

The whole film has such a feel good thing about it. Plus the scenery and weather make it my number one.

I have this week watched Midnight in Paris and that also is a good film.

Gosh these Thursdays come around quickly. I nearly forgot as I a away having a week with friends , been sewing but will share that Saturday

Here we are on the letter L and for me it could be laurel and Hardy.  Or Lassie or Ladies in Lavender .

I have gone for the latter as it is set in Cornwall that is the most beautiful county in England although I don't believe it is right now due to the horrendous storms and flooding .

Hello Happy Thursday . Today in Alphabet Thursday class we have reached J and if you are following me you will know that I am sharing my favourite films . Most I will have watched or are on my to watch  list .
I could have chosen James Bond but that is slightly cheating as that is the main character and there are no JB films beginning with J gutted .
Then there are the Jackass films that my daughter loves but they are not my thing.
I thought about Jack Frost but that is sad and Christmassy .

Ok here we go again, we are now on round eight of Alphabet Thursday , where has the time gone.

At the moment this is the only day I blog , I really need to get organised and get more blogging done. 

Any way enough if only's, this round I am going to attempt to share with you My favourite films.

These are a few of my favourite Films 

Ok this week was easy to decide , I have loved Babe since I first read the book by Dick King Smith.

The book was released in 1983 and I read it to a child I was a nanny for. 

Then in 1995 the film came out .

It was read by my eldest who then watched the film at the cinema. I am not sure when the video arrived in the house but it was watched and watched . Then DVDs arrived and yes it was purchased in that format.

Babe is about a pig with attitude and surprise surprise he talks. It really is an endearing film and loved by adults and children alike.

If a farming film with a pig that can herd sheep appeals to you then all I can say is in the boredom post Christmas go and get a copy of this film.

So here we go a film from a book by Nick Hornby , having never read the book I was able to watch and enjoy.

A story about a boys relationship with people  at twelve he is struggling with being bullied and having a depressed mother and no father. Enter Hugh Grant and a not so straight forward happy ever after.

It is definitely on our watch again favourite list .

Here we go again I am really late this week.

Please don't ask busy busy.

Ok for me M is a letter that I have no photos for this week  but it does not mean they are not important just not got their permission to put photo on my blog.

 

In 2000 me and my family relocated from Manchester to Market Drayton,

the first family I met were the Mullen 's

They have two boys well men now called Micheal and Matthew.

 

I know at least three Martins,

one a vicar , one a companian and one a husband and father

There is one Mary who is a lovely christian lady.

 

My daughter grew up with a little girl called Martha .

 

At this moment I have a young lady at my house called Miriam

so as you can see I have a few M people in my life .Oops there is another one ,who remember M people?

Ok it is that time of week again , where I join a number of other bloggers over at Lady Jenny's Place

Week 12 sees us focusing on the letter L.

Now those of you who follow my blog will know that I have this round been focusing on family or people I know.

Now I could cheat this week by using the titles on these mugs and introduce my children again 

For example I could tell you all about Lord Christopher

Or maybe ladies Rebecca,Elizabeth aka Lizzie and Hannah.

 

 

They were each bought a piece of land about a foot square in Scotland that gave them a lord/lady title bit dubious but fun.

 

I could tell you about Linda in Biddulph or Linda in Derbyshire both great friends but I am leaving it short and simple  the best L in my life is the Lord God .

I is not for Eden House

Ok it is time a gain to share people in my life with you, yes it is alphabet Thursday.
And this week its I



Well I guess the most important I in my life was my ex husband Ian. We met and married in a 1984 and very soon had a family, Rebecca, Elizabeth Christopher and finally Hannah , and I have to say I would not be who I am today witjout the years I spent with Ian.

I dont honestly know where my marriage failed I just knw that on Friday August 28th 2009 Ian called and said he was not coming home. My world fell apart but I had to make sure that the for wonderful children were cared for.
We divorced on May 11th 2011I am not bitter just  sad that what I vowed in church did not last because he no longer loved me.


There actually a number of Ian's in my life.
Ian Marrow father of a child I minded and now friend along with his partner Georgina
Ian Thompson ex wife of my best friend Carolyn and Godfather to Christopher
Ian Andrews a neighbour who  along with his wife have been very supportive
Ian McFarland christian friend from church

And there are few other that I could bore you with.

My first Niece was christened Ilse but as a teenager decided to use her middle name Nikki so more about her in a few weeks..
There is also an Aunt called Irene but for various reasons I do not have a  relationship with her.

H is not for Edenhouse

I need to start this week with an apology . Last week I was in hospital at the time of publication. I am sorry that's did not visit any of you , if you visited and commented on mine thank you. 

I am resuming normal service this week.

Ok we are on week eight of this round of alphabet Thursday. Today I am focusing on the my wonderful Daughter Hannah.

Hannah arrived in the world on February 27h 1991.

Her full name Is Hannah Frances Ianthe Cook

Quite a mouth full I know.

 I particularly liked the name Ianthe and if I had had my way it would have been her first name. The best thing about this name is that it is the feminine of Ian her father also a combination of Theresa which is where Tracy comes from .

It is also a violet coloured flower.and the name of the queen of the fairies in a Gilbert and Sullivan opera.

So as you can see a beautiful name .

I did not realise at the time but she has truly beautiful names and she is truly beautiful and very natural. Hannah is not only beautiful but she is tall at 6ft 2 in she towers over me by a good 3 inches.

Yes I have bragged about my stunning daughter and the biggest reason apart from being honest , is because she has been there through 4 spinal operations and all the implications .

 Hannah loves to bake and this was the afternoon Tea that Hannah and Elizabeth made for Becky

My next H is for my first grandson Harry. 

Harry  John Cook was born on Boxing Day 2011. He is adorable but I am  biased.

I am respecting my son and daughter in laws requests not to have photographs on my blog , but trust me he has a mop of blond curls and is delightful. At 19 months he is now at my favourite age . An age that he is like a sponge.

Other H's in. My life are Henry age 7 a neighbour, Henrietta 13? A friends daughter.Harold one of the older members of church .There are a number of H pets two Harry's one a  a dog and two cats .

Wow week six of this round of alphabet Thursday . Now regular followers will know that I am doing names for this round . I have had to work my little brain hard as we do not have any Fred's or Freda's

Then I remembered Fiona . Fiona has been part of our extended family since before she was born. Fiona is one of Elizabeth's (last week) closest friends.

I had the Pleasure of attending her wedding .

Well that is about it for F oh except Hannah whose middle name is Frances , oh and I have a friend called Frances .

D is for.... Edenhouse

 Well I am delighted to share the letter D this week. Now sadly most of my D names I do not have photographs for sorry .

The first D is for David  now I know many David's .

Two are neighbours David Cadwell is my next door neighbour his eldest son is Ben Christophers best mate.

Then there is David Evans my opposit neighbour, he came to my rescue when the tilet was flooding. He is married to Diane ( another D) and is a fab cook, love invites there to eat.

Next comes my nieces step Dad David he was a worl colleague of my ex.

Then there is David Stubbs great frineds from Manchester now in Lincoln also married to a Diane and Godfather to my youngest daughter, his wife Diane is Second daughters Godmother.

As you can see I know a couple of Dianes , there is another Diane in Manchester sadly not seen her for years we became very close when her husband suddenly died way to young.

What I notice about these two D names they are not names so common today. I do not know any children with these names. The yougest David I know is my friend Stephs husband who is mid 30's

having said that if I knew more welsh people I might know a few more David's.

It would very remiss of me to forget Deborah . I know a few. Two in particular who are both prison officers and also great friends.

C is for....... Edenhouse

Well it's Alphabet Thursday again, even tho its Wednesday !!!!

I have decided to have a theme for this 7th round of Alphabet Thursday, created by our wonderful Jenny. Please take a few moments to pop by and say hello to her.

Ok here goes, oh I forgot to say my theme is names they will either be family or friends names. 

This week I am  introducing you to Christopher Daniel Robert Cook.

He entered the world at 8pm on Friday 28th October 1988. Weighing in at 10lb 4oz .Chris is my third child and first son.

He was given the name Christopher as his father and I had written to each other suggesting the name Christopher, it was saved from my first pregnancy.

Daniel is the name of his paternal grandfather who sadly has died now.

Robert is interesting it is not on his maternal grandfathers name but also my brother and grandfathers name plus some generations before.

When Chris was born it was realised very soon that he was an asthma sufferer , the best

piece of advice I was given was not to wrap Him in cotton wool so we didn't and I am so pleased I didn't he is now an amazing 6ft4 gentle giant and married to Gemma , they have two sons Harry 17 months and Arthur 1 month.

Life with Christopher has always been an adventure, he was a sporty young boy football,basketball,swimming  and rugby being his favourite of late .He is an avid Manchester United fan.

But now his life centres aroound his wonderful wife Gemma and their two sons mentioned above.

My Next C is Carl Taylor he is my wonderful son in law married to Becky. They met whilst we were on a family holiday to France , it turned out that they lived in Staffordshire and Becky and Carl were the same age. Small world.

Then there is Charmaine a new friend but a brilliant friend.

Caroline a friend since 1985 , she lives in Manchester.

Charlotte a friends daughter who lives in Australia.

Colin is married to charlottes cousin Jo 

Then there is Charlie well Charlotte who now lives in Dubai.

Then their is Chris or Christine my Godmothers daughter.

Cerys is one of my best, friends mums 

As you can see I know a number of C people . All different  characters but all have the first initial C.

B is for .............., Edenhouse

Ok here we are again ready for round seven letter B.Thank you Jenny for all your hard reviews I guess that those of us that get an A+ are extremely lucky lol

As I said last week I am using this round to share with you people who are special to me either family or friends , I would like to say now that if on a particular let you are not mentioned please forgive me.

Ok so,I am on the second letter of the alphabet B pronounced Bee.

Now this lovely letter is the second of our Alphabet but I want to tell you about my first child Becky.

On May 22nd 1985 I was blessed with the safe arrival of Rebecca Beryl Eileen  

She has been a real challenge Blessing , I love her dearly but feel I should always be apologising to her even tho she is 28, I am sure I made loads of mistakes with her being the first. But Becky has survived and is now happily married to Carl her husband best friend and soul mate.

 

 

 

It would be remiss if I did not mention Beauty Grandad AKA Bob here

 

This is my father who sadly died two years ago. He was an ace grandad.

 

 

 

My final B is Beryl My Mum. She died in 1979  and missed being a grandma by two months .

She always said she wanted to be a Grandma and I always said that I would be Granma when the time came, well as you know I am now a privelaged granma to two boys.

y is for ......... Edenhouse

ok here we are again it is Alphabet Thursday time this week we are charged with the lovely letter Y
I wanted to introduce you to the YOUNGEST member of the family , baby Arthur William born on May 1st but I am respecting his parents wishes of no photos online.
So instead I have decided to look around and see what I can see that is
yellow .
This was a card from a friend who with her two young sons had returned from life in Florida following leaving her husband. I went over to visit with activity things for the boys.



 
 
This Knitted Duck was from my Grandson it had an egg in the body and I have just discovered a mini egg in the head Result

This is my favourite in yellow it is an angel made from a dishcloth. it is edged in pearls and red bow round her neck. It was made by a friend who I have just got to know.


Now I know that some people think that a weed is a miss placed plant not me I dislike dandelions immensely especially as my lawn  is covered in them







This is like a field near my home it is rape seed and the smell is so strong , I cant walk across field when in flower .

 

There are many other things I could have included like Birds custard, yellow pepper, bananas, and then there are members of the squash family and finally tomatoes yes they do come in yellow.
